STRATEGIC PLAN FOR TERRITORIAL COOPERATION 2030
The strategic planning of the Eurocity is vital for the definition of medium and long-term objectives, in order to position the territory in the local, national, and international contexts, as well as direct actions and investments in a coherent and sustainable way to create the best possible future for the Eurocity.
Strategic planning is a creative process that defines the foundations for long-term integrated action, establishes a continuous decision-making system, identifies specific actions, formulates indicators for monitoring results, and involves local socio-economic agents throughout the process.
In 2021, the Eurocity began the process of reviewing and renewing the first strategic agenda presented in 2008. In this sense, during 2021, the Eurocity developed a first proposal for a strategic plan, where a diagnosis was made and the vision and strategic guidelines of the Eurocity were defined. These were discussed during the year 2022, through four working sessions, one for each strategic guideline, with the participation of the different local agents.
This document will now be presented to the press and will continue to be disseminated to the public over the next 10 years. This dissemination will be made to the local population, as well as to local, regional, national and European institutions, serving as a reference tool for the Eurocity in the next decade.
VIEW
By 2030, the Eurocity Chaves-Verín, EGTC should be recognized as a relevant actor for the development of an inland cross-border territory, adopting the resource "water" and the river Támega as differentiating and agglutinating elements of the strategy, in its multiple dimensions.
